ATHENS, Ohio (CNN) – Speaking to supporters near Ohio University’s campus, Joe Biden said it was good to be back in Athens after visiting for a football game over 40 years ago. This time, however, chances are he’ll leave without getting arrested.

“I went to the University of Delaware and we came out here to play Ohio University,” said Biden. “The thing I loved about the university was that it was such a beautiful town and we all hung around out afterwards.”  Source Article

Vice presidential nominee Joe Biden picks up the baton in today’s Democratic radio address, accusing John McCain of trying to change the subject from the economy and promoting Barack Obama’s plan to aid the middle class.

“Nothing less than our future prosperity and security are at stake in this election,” Biden says. “That’s why it’s been so disappointing that our opponents don’t seem to want to talk about the economy.”Source Article

ST. JOSEPH, Missouri (CNN) – Joe Biden railed against the McCain camp’s recent character attacks on Barack Obama Wednesday, saying, “when you’ve got something to say to a guy, you look him in the eye and you say it to him!”

Watch: ‘Look him in the eye and say it,” Biden says of McCain

The Delaware senator on Wednesday called the strategy “the lowest road to the highest office in the land” and asked a small crowd at Missouri Western State University, “beyond these attacks, what’s John McCain really offering?”

“Every single false charge, every baseless accusation is an attempt to get you to stop paying attention to what’s going on in this country and what’s going on in your lives,” said Biden, telling supporters to not be distracted by the Republican tone. Source Article

Back on the campaign trail, Sen, Joseph Biden relished the chance to rip into John McCain for his performance in last night’s debate. After admonishing the Arizona Republican for failing to mention the word “middle class,” he played the ‘old man’ card about as transparently as it has been played this entire cycle.

The American people are looking for a steady hand and leadership, Biden said in a Tampa, Florida speech, “not an angry man lurching from one position to another.”   Source Article

While the presidential campaign has taken a decidedly personal and vicious tilt these past few days, one individual who has generally been left out of the fray has been Sen. Joe Biden. That’s because the Delaware Democrat has been off the trail bereaving the loss of his mother-in-law to a heart attack.

As such an informal detente has been in place when it comes to attacking him. But on Tuesday, Sarah Palin broke the truce.

Speaking to a rabid crowd in Florida, the Alaska Governor was set to focus her ire primarily on Barack Obama. And, for the most part, she did, arguing that he was associated with domestic terrorists, tied to the heads of evil Fannie Mae and dangerously committed to hosting summits of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
