ESPANOLA, N.M. – Democrat Barack Obama said today that he was “ahead of the curve” in calling for more regulation of the financial industry and hammered Republican rival John McCain for being a longtime opponent of government intervention.

Appearing under a warm sun in this battleground state, Obama also mocked McCain’s call today for the firing of the chairman of the Security and Exchange Commission and encouraged supporters to set their sights higher.

“In the next 47 days, you can fire the whole trickle-down, on-your-own, look-the-other-way crowd in Washington who has led us down this disastrous path,” Obama said. “Don’t get rid of one guy. Get rid this administration. Get rid of this philosophy.” Source Article
